Colorado

There were five kids on this trip. We rented a van and drove to Pikes Peak where we looked at the surrounding mountains. The kids decided that they wanted to try rock climbing so we stopped at a place where they got the gear and climbed up a protected side. Fun!

We went to the Valley of the Gods and toured interesting sites and wandered around before we got to our cabin/resort where we were to go riding on the rapids. Great fun. Liz and Tom called their dad to tell him of the adventure. He advised them not to go. Too dangerous.. but they said ”dad..we went today and we are going tomorrow”…and they did.

Jason and Chris got a special trip to take a raft down the Colorado River on their own. They were too young, but the guide went with them and they had a great time. The rest of us watched them from a bridge above that had all of the states imprinted on its road.
We also went horseback riding at dusk in the mountains. How gorgeous is that!

We also noticed that we were high in the altitude. I had a nose bleed, not sure about the others.
