2018 Fiji

As part of a year-long celebration of Fabulous & 50, another trip to visit Riley in his next new natural habitat was planned. “The Ladies” (Andrea Cyr, Andrea Franchett, Domenique, Grandma, Julie, Maja, and Marguerethe) spent a week on a mountain top in the Coral Coast. Fabulous 50… in Fiji. The trip included a lot of down time, eating, drinking, and talking. We discovered our personalities… and that Auntie Lisa and Andrea share a caretaker disposition. Shocking. We enjoyed a birthday celebration that included a hand-made memory book, Madam Secretary Big T bracelet, and a Tommy Halliday wood burning.

Farisha helped us shop, cook, and plan adventures, AND scheduled a masseuse to come to the house (twice). We took a few adventures… to the secret beach, the failed attempt to watch “the game” at a snooty resort, and the kava ceremony and walk to the waterfall. Steve and Riley joined us for a few days that included a snorkeling adventure to a paradise island. Grandma (almost) snorkeled, Domenique did for the first time, and Julie, after much trepidation and coaxing from our own personal scuba dive instructor, jumped in as well. On our last day, Grandma read her book, guarded by her cat friend, while the crew hiked the sand dunes, having discovered that some hikes are just not worth it.
