2010 England
Grandma and I had a wonderful trip to England. We started our trip in London where we hit all the big sites. In proper Harry Potter fashion we visited Kings Cross Station and searched for the platform 9 and ¾ only to find that there was not even a sign to memorialize the famous literary masterpiece. We also took the “tube” where Grandma, even though she must’ve said it about one thousand times, did not “mind the gap”, and fell right on top of another little old lady nearly killing the old women (not really). We also went on a tour of the Tower of London and Big Ben, as well as a glorious trip on the London Eye.
From London we met up with the rest of the group in Oxford where we stayed at a little hotel in a residential area. There we met many other grandparents and grandchildren who also shared a love for Harry Potter. We quickly made a grandparent/grandchildren friend group and began traveling as an inseparable pack through the historic streets of Oxford. We visited many castles and museums and even performed a play! Although the best part had to be of course the dinner in the dining hall that the Great Hall in Hogwarts was modeled after with a dumbledore stand-in. Grandma and I had lots of fun on this adventure and it was the first of many adventures we would share together.
